Busy Bloody Bee

Sigh. When I started this whole blog thing I wanted to write something every day, diary stylee. But now I'm entering the last few months of my PhD I'm the busiest effing bee in town. My life is just manic at the moment (except for yesterday when I stayed in my PJs until 1pm). On Wednesday I went to a concert, then my little mum came for the weekend. I just haven't found the time to write about ANY of this yet. But I will.

Tonight sees the recommencement of knitting club, a.k.a. 'stitch and bitch', a.k.a. 'not-knitting club' if you just want to come over and eat some food and chat and drink and not knit. I won't have a word said against it. It makes me extremely cool. So says I. Around this time last year I started knitting a scarf for Stu. Tonight I have big plans to finish it off. Quick worker me.

hahaha...my friends and I have the same sort of club!!!
I started a scarf in '03, that I've yet to finish. I tend to turn into a swearing machine whenever I knit, its not good. Drinking more always helps I'm sure.

Good luck in the final stages of your phd, its going to be a great sense of accomplishment when you're done!

That sounds like my kind of knitting club entirely! Eat, drink, chatter, and sabotage others' knitting - I am so there.

Stu will be so pleased to someday receive his scarf.

Where do I sign up? My god you're working on your phd and blogging. Wow! I have not done my phd but when I took my masters in math believe me everything else in my life was eliminated.

Stitch and bitch I LOVE IT! XD !!! OOOOH I want a scarf too! Maybe I should learn to knit...is it easy to learn? I wonder if I could learn from a book. I have no one to teach me :(
Good luck in the last months of getting your PhD! I hope you continue to find some time for yourself at the same time!!!

Sounds like you're a busy bee indeed - the knitting will be a therapeutic break from all that study : )

haha. A not knitting club. I like it. A place for all these eager knitters to make extravagant knitting promises, and totally forget about them as soon as they walk out the door.

Good luck with the PhD Keesie. You'll get it.

I'm over the swearing stage Alli but there was A LOT to start with.

Barb I shall let you into a secret - I finished the fucking scarf. I'm so proud. It's pretty short, I won't lie, but go round his neck it will, therefore it is a scarf.

Oooh Toccata - masters in maths. One of the topics of conversation last night was how much more useful and interesting a PhD in maths (or physics) would have been.

There HAS to be a club in your area Mel. I couldn't learn from a book for shit, I really needed someone to show me. We started because in my little group of buddies we discovered two were seasoned knitters so we forced them to show the rest of us how to do it. But there's loads of clubs all around the place.

Tis very therapeutic Anna as you well know. Meditative almost :)

Thanks Ben, though at the moment not-knitting activities seem much more fun than my boring thesis :(

Yay for you! You've been cheating, haven't you, and secretly knitting at no-knitting club. They should turf you out!
