I have big news. Thursday night us knitting ladeez got together as it was the birthday of one of our number. We did some knitting and drank some mulled wine. Somehow we all got around to measuring each other, like you do.
I have been 5' 5" since I was 12. Three years ago, at a science fair, I was measured by some infrared thing as 5' 5" dead on. Not any more. I HAVE GROWN 3/4 OF AN INCH!!!! Woohoo! I am 5' 5" and 3/4 which is a bit of a mouthful so I think I'll round it up to 5' 6". I'm king of the world.
I'm off to stay with my sister for the weekend. Before I go I have work to do, gifts to buy, cards to write. But it's not a problem 'cos I'm 5' 6", mate.

If you can say you are 5'6" I can stop saying I am 5'4" and a half and call myself 5'5" ... I feel much taller now. Thanks kees!

ast time I checked I was 5'10", but that was years and years ago. I dunno if I've grown or shrunk since then.

I don't have height issues as such but I would love longer legs - I guess they're a given at 5'9"! Lucky lady!

Hobbit pfff! I wasn't standing on tip toes no. I am slightly suspicious the skirting board may have influenced the measurements but I think that's ok.

you really SHOULD try it out jewelry-making - it's good therapy, plus if the worldwide currency system ever goes to hell and we go back to a bead system, well, I'm already rich. Go to the Bead Shop at Covent Garden - my favorite bead shop in the world - for ideas. There's also a shop in Blue Water Mall (suburban London, I think?) that sells superb art jewelry that I find really inspiring.
