Sadly my boss has been signed off work with stress, which is terrible. I do feel sorry for her, she's under a lot of pressure at the moment.

BUT, she does have a tendency to stress me out by asking me what I'm doing, how it's going, do I realise I've not got long left now? Even if I'm in the middle of an experiment she'll say helpful things like 'we really do need to get on with this' and I want to yell 'I can't make the science go any faster!!!' in her face. But I don't. It's actually quite a relief not having her around. So first thing I did was to book myself a massage and hair cut. Lovely. What a great big enormous slacker I am.

My hairdresser always plays the CUTEST videos, this one is even cuter than the last one. The tune is 'Hi' by Psapp who are big in love with all things feline and throw hand-made (by them) cats into the audience at their gigs. I'd not heard of them before I went to get my hairs cut but I'm liking their style, and I LOVE this tune...

Hi

Hopefully she can use the time off to de-stress. Maybe then you'll have a better work environment.

I watched that 'HI' video, LOVE IT. Which is really weird because I have a large fear of applicances coming to life (stupid cartoon disney movies). But I really enjoyed that one. I remember the one you posted last time, it was cute, even though it ended on a sad note.

Enjoy getting your hair cut :)

I hope your supervisor gets the help she needs to take control of stress in her life. The atmosphere sounds a little more relaxed there now without the tension she creates.

That is a very cute video and song. Very Tim Burton. You must have a fun hairdresser!

Nothing more relaxing than getting your hair done while watching fun videos... How come they never show videos at my hairdresser?

My old boss had a breakdown after I left. She has to deal with our 'no clue how to work with people' owner on her own. She went on sickleave and transfered to another store where the owner is not an arse. In fact everyone in managment has since left the store within 3 months of me leaving... It had nothing to do with me except maybe I showed them that leaving is possible it can even be fun.

I'm with Ben on the co-workers creating their own stress. Hopefully she can get the help she needs and when and if she does return she will be in a better position to manage the little stresses that inevitably pop up.

Your hairdresser is a heck of a lot more fun than mine! I always go to a school which I actually really like but sadly no videos and only really scratchy sounding music.

Yeah I totally agree with you Ben, she is well known for her unique ability to create her own mountains of stress and panic and therefore stress everyone around her. That said these last few months have been really unfair on her, our head of department is being a cock. That's interesting what you say about your boss - I don't really see how this will end up, if I were her I'd be looking elsewhere for a job, I don't think the circumstances round here are going to change any time soon.

Yeah that last video was a bit sad Allison! This one is great, glad you like it in spite of your fear of lively appliances! Hehehehe!

I hope she does too Barb, I've never been her biggest fan but I really feel for her at the moment. My hairdresser is fairly un-fun but they have music videos playing on screens all over the place - up on the ceiling by the sinks!

You know Barbara I'm thinking she should leave - and I think you're dead right, people tend to just stay where they are and never seriously think about leaving even if it's the best thing. Maybe I should show her the way and leave!

She's bad enough with the little stresses but there are big things going on at the moment Toccata. Does the school have a suggestions box? You could suggest investment in a music video jukebox!

Lets hope your boss doesn't read that entry LOL!
Way, that video is kinda spooky, or is it just me.
I had my hair done the other day too; most relaxing x
